Hello, my name is Krystyna de Jacq, and I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I believe that there is no health without mental health. I offer a mix of therapy and medication management and will work with you until you achieve your optimal state of health and well-being. I am of European upbringing, and as I have lived in the United States for many years, I bring a diverse psychological and cultural perspective to work with my clients.

I treat adults and adolescents with a wide array of emotional and psychological concerns, such as depression, anxiety, concentration problems, emotional dysregulation, and bipolar disorder. I also help individuals struggling with relationship or work issues, low self-esteem, anger/irritability, sleep troubles, and questions of meaning and purpose. A thorough and comprehensive psychiatric consultation demands that my patient and I do our best to understand all the potential reasons for their presentation for help. I focus on an alliance that supports an interaction of mutual involvement rather than a traditional paternalistic or authoritarian hierarchy in the doctor-patient relationship.

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and earned my MD from Jefferson Medical College. I completed my Psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai (NYC) where I received extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My specialties are in the areas of mood, anxiety and eating disorders. I am also trained and certified as a health coach by The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I have maintained a private practice in Scarsdale since 2005 and I am now thrilled to be able to offer my services to patients in Florida via my telemedicine practice.

I'm a board-certified psychiatrist who's very knowledgeable about helping people with depression, bipolar disorder, medical illnesses, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition to medication and cognitive-behavioral therapy, I'm also interested in the complementary use of meditation, mindfulness, exercise, light therapy, and companion animals. I believe that the key to successful treatment is a thorough biological, psychological, and social assessment followed by shared decision-making between patient and doctor. I am a Yale-educated, Cornell- and Columbia-trained psychiatrist (MD) with a PhD in neuroscience, providing customized treatment based on individual needs. During our first visits we will get to know each other and talk about why you came in. We will start to determine your personal goals and the different treatment options available to you. I see patients in my private office, in a nonthreatening environment, with complete confidentiality. I want people to feel comfortable and safe in my office, even if it it their first experience with a psychiatrist.

With board certification in adult as well as geriatric psychiatry, I have the training and experience to treat clients across the entire adult age range. I believe firmly in an existential and holistic approach to clients--whether the treatment involves psychotherapy, medication management, or both.
