I am a Yale University-trained Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practioner with over 18 years of experience in Mental Health. I am lifespan board-certified to treat ages 5 to 70years old. I have subspecialty training in child and adolescent psychiatry and clinical research. I treat all psychiatric conditions including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, Panic Disorder, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, PTSD and abuse survivors, OCD, Eating Disorders, and ODD. I provide culturally sensitive integrative and holistic psychiatric services that are tailored to each individual patient's needs.

I became a doctor because I wanted to help people, and I found a home in Psychiatry. I believe a patient and a therapist together can change lives. This requires trust, motivation and an experienced therapist. Medication can be an enormously helpful part of this treatment. Many people, in this day-and-age, walk around feeling stressed, anxious, and depressed, and don't know that they can be helped. Modern treatment, including medication, can help with these symptoms.

As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with over 20 years experience in the field, I’ve had the opportunity to work with patients of all ages and in a variety of treatment settings. Specialty areas are recovery from narcissistic abuse/domestic violence, attachment styles/traumas, OCD/anxiety, depression, grief/loss, anger management, postpartum, divorce/separation, and codependency. At my private practice, Family Psychiatric Services, I provide a holistic approach, utilizing intensive therapy, nutrition, and medication management, with the goal of helping patients become medication free (as appropriate).

Cornell and Columbia trained, Dr. Lopez does not believe in one-size-fits-all treatments. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the national Child and Adolescent Psychiatry society (AACAP) and believes in down-to-earth approaches that really make sense. Dr. Lopez is also an adult psychotherapist with years of training in the most in-depth psychotherapies. He provides interventions that have clear results. A Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), he has taught at Cornell and Columbia specialized programs for more than 15 years. He now brings to Philadelphia the latest knowledge to help kids, parents, and adult patients.

I am a Board Certified psychiatrist with over twenty-five years of clinical experience since my graduation from residency, and I maintain practices in psychiatry in New York City, Sag Harbor, and Litchfield County, Connecticut. Areas of expertise include psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, in-home and nursing home consultations and management, and work with patients suffering from medical illness; I have completed formal fellowships in these areas at Cornell, Columbia, and Memorial Sloan Kettering.
