I've treated a broad range of people over the years, many with biologic mood/anxiety problems who benefit primarily from medication and many with relationship problems who benefit primarily from talk therapy, especially in a couples' setting. I am pragmatic and eclectic in approach.

I am a psychiatrist, Columbia trained, board certified in general psychiatry, with an extensive background in medicine. I specialize in treating attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders (panic, phobias, generalized anxiety), mood disorders (depression, bipolar), obsessive compulsive states and post traumatic stress disorder. Treatment is with psychotherapy alone or medication plus psychotherapy. Medication management is offered when another therapist is involved. Appointments are given quickly in a warm and welcoming environment that is confidential. With collaboration, patients are encouraged to make their own treatment decisions.

Clients who seek treatment with me are often feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed, confused, and exhausted by any number of life events, disappointments, losses, and transitions, with which they may have been dealing on recent or long-term basis. Sometimes, they are perceived and labelled as "difficult" or "demanding" by other medical professionals, family, and that has become their self-perception. Sinai Medical Center in New York. I have been in CT since 1989, initially as an assistant professor of psychiatry at Yale and director of the Connecticut Mental Health Center's Hispanic Clinic. I subsequently worked extensively as chief of the psychiatric crisis service at Griffin Hospital. I am currently the medical director of the Community Child Guidance Clinic in Manchester, CT.

Margaret (Peg) Cornell, APRN (she, her) is a psychiatric nurse practitioner and pastoral care specialist at Shoreline Pastoral Counseling.
