Hello! My name is James Camp, and together we can strive for your success and wellness. My approach to psychiatry is an eclectic approach to improving your mental wellbeing through medication management and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bereavement and many other psychiatric disorders. I offer in-person and telehealth services. My practice is collaborative and allows you to set the pace for your path to success.

I am a board certified psychiatrist currently accepting new patients. My practice is strictly through the use of telepsychiatry which means that all appointments will be held via HIPAA compliant video conferencing software. Many patients prefer this means of treatment as appointments can be done from the comfort of your home or office without the need for lengthy commutes or waiting rooms and it provides access to mental health treatment to patients located in more remote locations. I treat adult (18+) patients located in Colorado, Texas and Washington State though controlled substance prescribing may only be done in Colorado.

I believe that creating a satisfying, meaningful and happy life is a worthy goal. There may be obstacles in the way. Getting help to identify and deal with those obstacles is one of the goals for therapy. Therapy is a collaborative process at its best and one in which the therapist uses skills and expertise as a consultant. That is my goal in providing therapy. I combine alternative treatment with general psychiatry. Medications and/or natural supplements are used as needed, but always with some degree of psychotherapy. I treat anxiety and mood disorders as well as relationship issues. Anxiety, situational depression and stress disorders can be treated with a variety of traditional and alternative methods. Couple therapy/counseling is often very helpful. . Treatment goal is to produce beneficial results as soon as feasible. My treatment style is engaging and interactive, Therapy is generally short-term

We regard people as inherently healthy and whole, in contrast to the conventional and widespread belief that people with psychiatric symptoms must be in long-term treatment. Psychological health can truly be achieved by learning new techniques of managing stress and overcoming fear-based habits. We prescribe medications as temporary tools for softening intense symptoms, allowing the deeper healing can occur. Alternative treatments such as vitamins and supplements are encouraged when appropriate. When depression or PTSD does not respond to conventional treatments, we may recommend a course of ketamine assisted psychotherapy.

She began her career as a bedside nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, and then went on to obtain her Masters's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in primary care as well as palliative care, helping care for patients and families with multiple medical conditions and emotional needs.
