I'm a board-certified psychiatrist with a broad focus. My working style with patients is a therapeutic alliance. I thoroughly enjoy listening to my patients, hearing their stories, how their problems developed, and things that have made it better or worse in the past. I treat all patients as individuals and coach them to work from the basis of their strengths.

My ideal client is someone dealing with mood disorders such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and/or ADHD. They are looking for more than just a quick fix and want to work on finding lasting relief. They want to regain control over their emotions, thoughts, and actions to function better in their daily life—whether that's in their career, social relationships, or personal achievements.

I am experienced in treating both adults and children with the use of Psychoanalytic methods. I use the object relations approaches of Klein, Winnicott and Bion. In child therapy, I engage children on a deep level through play, dreams, art and conversation. With adults, I use free association, night and day dreams. My object is to expose patients to their primitive, deep anxieties allowing them to work through their troubled minds, facilitating internal growth and development, and positive social interactions. I also work with mothers and babies having bonding difficulties. My practice is busy so use email for best results.

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner(PMHNP-BC) with an additional master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). Hi! I'm Shala, a board certified mental health nurse practitioner supporting adolescents, teens, and adults in overcoming anxiety, depression, and PTSD. For those who need to taper off meds, I use a holistic method which includes psychotherapy, nutrition, and sleep hygiene in addition to gentle tapering from Benzos and other psychotropics based on well known methods like the Ashton Manual and Dr. Horowitz guidelines. I am also a member of the Benzodiazepine Information and Coalition (BIC).

Dr Connolly grew up in Connecticut and completed undergrad at the University of Connecticut where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Cognitive Science. Dr Connolly then moved to California for medical school at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr Connolly received his medical education and doctorate from there before heading to Southern California for residency training.

This may include those who have tried multiple medications in the past and have had less then optimal success, found that they are very sensitive to medication effects, or wish to explore alternatives such as; learning mind/emotion/stress management skills, herbal or supplement alternatives (orthomolecular medicine), and spiritual practices to support their healing process.

After receiving her master’s degree and Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Simmons University, she continued her education at University of Cincinnati receiving a post graduate certificate in psychiatric mental health. Madison’s journey in healthcare began treating both acute physical and mental health conditions as a registered nurse in hospital settings. She soon found the importance of mental health as an integral part of overall well-being and the need for increased access to care at all levels.
