About
Coming from a family with a wealth of extensive medical backgrounds, I was both inspired and destined to pursue a career in the field of medicine/nursing. I have been an RN for approximately 18 years where I have worked in a variety of settings and specialties including medical-surgical, intensive care (ICU), progressive care (PCU), transitional care (TCU), critical care, triage/emergency care, recovery, pre-op & post-operative surgery, long-term & acute care, home health care, infectious disease, oncology, psychiatry, gynecology, gastroenterology, urology, cardiology, neurology and complex medicine.
I have been an ANP for approximately 9 years. I also work as an ANP in Primary Care and Internal Medicine. I have been able to acquire skills and enhance my knowledge base, gain a wealth of experiences, and attain the opportunity to really focus on honing in on my skills as far as accurately assessing, diagnosing, and treating my clients.
Through research and experiences with clients, I have learned that there is a huge stigma attached to those with mental health disorders and up to this day it is still viewed in a negative light. My goal is to improve access to mental health care and assist in breaking down these barriers to quality mental health care.
