I am a Board-Certified Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). My work experiences, since June 2021, include providing proficient psychiatric assessment, diagnosing mental health conditions, medication management, hospital psychiatric liaison consultation, treating diverse psychiatric disorders across the life span, and providing collaborative care. I have over twenty-five years’ experience of psychiatric care as an RN, managing patients with mental health crises, and caring for clients in both short and long-term settings. My professional strengths include use of evidence-based treatment approach.

My ideal client would understand that the journey to wellness and recovery requires time, effort, and patience. They would be receptive to treatment suggestions which may include psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, and medication options. My patients would take an active role in their care, and engage in open and honest communication with their provider.

My team and I specialize in child and adolescent psychiatry but have also seen adult clients for nearly 20 years. The bulk of our practice has been anxiety, ADHD and mood disorders in children, adolescents and adults. We have extensive experience with medication management of all levels of pathology from simple trouble focusing in school to suicidal or self-injurious behavior. We also work with special services schools to successfully reduce symptoms related to intellectual disability, mild to severe autism and/or developmental delays. Additionally, another specialty of ours is court-ordered psychiatric evaluations.

Dr. Adetunji is Board Certified in General Adult Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine and Psychological Medicine. He was trained in Psychiatry in England (At the prestigious Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital, London) as well as in USA (Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia). He completed fellowship training in Forensic Psychiatry at the New York University Medical Center. Dr Adetunji is well versed in addiction medicine and child and adolescent psychiatry. He is certified to prescribe Buprenorphine (Suboxone) for opioid addiction.

We specialize in the treatment of depression and other disorders including bipolar, ADHD, OCD, anxiety disorders, panic disorders, schizophrenia, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorders (DMDD), substance use, etc. Our expertise is in treating patients with depression, especially Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD), with a thorough diagnostic evaluation, neuropsychological testing, pharmacogenomic testing and using a range of treatment modalities, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and FDA approved medications for TRD including Spravato. We treat children and adults of all ages.

I completed my residency from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts and my Fellowship in Addictions from the Robert Johnson Wood Foundation. I have experience working with adults as well as adolescents suffering from both psychiatric diagnosis and substance use disorders and have extensive experience working in both out-patient and in-patient settings.

Dr. Jamal Mahmud is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed his residency training from Drexel University College of Medicine where he served as Chief Resident. Currently he is an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Drexel Iniversity/tower health. He is well-published in local and international journals.

Victory Bay offers a variety of client-centered programs treating Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health. We help our clients successfully detox from drugs and alcohol in a comfortable inpatient or outpatient setting. I am double board-certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. I believe in using both medication when indicated as well as therapy. I was trained in CBT and was given the Excellence in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy during my residency program. I use supportive therapy with each client I see. During my residency I served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Overall Excellence in Psychiatry Award as well as the Clinical Excellence Award.
