I believe in addressing human suffering and treating the human behind the diagnostic labels. I am one of the few clinicians in the US with dual training as a psychiatrist and clinical psychologist with extensive training and work experience at Emory, Baylor, Menninger Clinic, and Mayo Clinic. I focus on understanding my patients' struggles beyond diagnostic labels. I identify as a trauma-informed therapist. I understand how traumatic experiences deeply impact one's psyche and the disruptive effect these have on one's life trajectory . I understand the prevalence of trauma, mood, and anxiety disorders in patients recovering from substance and/or behavioral addictions, thus I accept patients with dual or multiple diagnoses. Of specific interest to me is working with licensed professionals who have addiction treatment needs. I provide education, intervention, assessment, treatment support, monitoring, and/or relapse prevention to professionals whose licensing and/or ability to practice is at stake.
