A NYC native with an undergraduate in Cell Biology & Human Physiology with minors in Zoology and Computer Systems Theory & Design at St John's University & then later at Iberoamerican University. There he graduated and obtained his Doctorate in Medicine. Dr. Pina completed post-graduate training at Columbia University and received a master’s degree in Public Health focusing on healthcare management & public health policy.
After completing a rotating internship & his residency training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine program in General Psychiatry, he was named Chief Resident. He pursued extra qualifications in Behavioral Neurology, Neuropsychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine & Research.
