I enjoy collaborating with patients who are dealing with challenges such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and men's health issues. My ideal patient has a strong desire to make positive lifestyle changes even if they lack the motivation to do so. That patient would be ok with me pushing them towards their goals but also comfortable with sharing with me the pace at which they are comfortable being pushed. My ideal patient understands the significance of a holistic approach to their wellness or is willing to learn, and believes that recovery is possible.
A holistic approach means I look at the full picture of the potential stressors and triggers instead of simply treating the presenting symptoms. At each session, I like to set achievable goals for my patients to work towards for their next session. This helps to build their confidence and produces measurable results they can look at to track their progress.
Keen listening is key to understanding the patient’s unique perspectives of their experiences and concerns. Once their concerns are identified, I enjoy collaborating with my patients to create treatment plans consisting of therapeutic modalities, medication management, lab work, and dietary supplementation that align with their cultural needs and values.
