Knowing your story is important because you are the expert on you. Your symptoms do not have to impact your functioning when you have the right resources and supports in place. While medications are sometimes needed they are not the only answer to managing symptoms. Often behavioral therapy and modification are effective in managing symptoms alone or in conjunction with medications at the lowest effective dosage.
With over 18 years in community psychiatry Joy Ellis-George, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CCM, has extensive experience in complex care and crisis management and inpatient Crisis management. This exposure has allowed her to treat patients at the most vulnerable time in their lives which has honed her skills to proactively identify symptoms and the appropriate treatment .
