I’m a psychiatrist who specializes in psychopharmacology—the thoughtful use of medication to treat psychiatric conditions. I provide careful diagnostic assessment and medication treatment that is collaborative, evidence-based, and respectful of the complexity of each patient’s life.
I specialize in depression, bipolar disorder, and most forms of anxiety, and I also have experience treating adults with attention deficit disorder. I do not treat children. I currently see patients exclusively by telepsychiatry, and I work with adults who live in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC.
In addition to working with patients, I also serve as Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at George Washington University, where I teach the psychopharmacology course for psychiatry residents. I've been honored with multiple Washingtonian Top Doctor awards and have conducted clinical research in mood disorders, anxiety, and ADHD.
I’ve also written two books about the brain and human behavior. "The Molecule of More" is an international bestseller translated into 20 languages. "Spellbound: Modern Science, Ancient Magic, and the Hidden Potential of the Unconscious Mind" uses neuroscience to examine the unconscious mind and its connection to ancient mystical traditions.
