I am Dana Monday, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I work with adults with a wide range of psychiatric concerns. Some areas where my experience and expertise shine brightest are in the peripartum period and with integrative and functional approaches to mental health.
My approach is highly collaborative and focuses on you as a whole person. I believe that you are the expert on your life, and my role is to provide tools and space to help you make it the life you want. I use ACT, mindfulness-based psychotherapy, and motivational interviewing as the theoretical foundation for my work.
In the first session, I give the client an idea of who I am and what I do. It also tends to be heavy on information gathering so I can best be of service. At the end, I provide my impressions and suggestions for ways to move forward.
