Verner is a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist with 15+ years of experience working with children and adults of all ages with a variety of mental health needs. Dr. Verner grew up in Nashville and graduated from Harpeth Hall School. She received her B.A. from Princeton University and her M.D. from Vanderbilt School of Medicine. She completed five years of residency and fellowship training in general and child psychiatry at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She served as chief resident in her final year of training.
After completing training, Dr. Verner worked at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital on the child and adolescent inpatient unit. She also worked at the Nashville VA Hospital for ten years. In 2013, she was inducted into AOA, an honor medical society. Dr. Verner has been in private practice since 2014. In 2018, she co-founded the group Green Hills Family Psych.
Dr. Verner’s broad range of experience, knowledge of development across the lifespan, commitment to evidence-based treatment, and multi-disciplinary approach to intervention are the foundation for her providing the best care to her patients. She values the patient-physician relationship as the most important aspect of treatment.
