Hi! My name is Crystal Turner. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who treats adults 18 and older. I treat various mental health conditions including trauma. mood disorders, depression, and anxiety. My approach is compassionate and inclusive. I incorporate education into my approach as I know well-informed patients have better outcomes. I also incorporate holistic approaches to integrate into care. I commonly work with people with history of trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and psychosis.
My communication style is inclusive and educational. To work with me feels like being well informed and heard. I am here to work with patients with their concerns in mind. The importance of mental health for me came as a result of mental illness in my family. This arose from significant trauma for people before me and its impact throughout my family.
I have seen significant amounts of this in community as well. I also had a friend develop mental illness and lack of awareness with her support system prevented loved ones from being proactive to help where is would have been possible. I set goals with patient concerns in mind. I also consider patient's most distressing issues to address these concerns first
