I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who believes mental health treatment should be based on the individual and involves a mutually-respectful working relationship between provider and patient. While I do prescribe medications, I am currently enrolled in an Integrative Psychiatric Fellowship program through 2022 and am learning how to incorporate more holistic treatment options such as vitamins, minerals, herbal supplements & mindfulness. I believe that good sleep, healthy nutrition, physical movement, and self care are essential for a person's well-being so these practices are also a part of our treatment approach.
Due to my unique background in both women's health and psychiatry, I have a special interest in working with women's mental health issues during pregnancy and the post-partum period including care while breastfeeding. In addition, I can diagnose and treat a variety of conditions including depression, anxiety, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, insomnia, ADHD.
I received my education from Yale University and University of Maryland. I previously worked as a certified nurse-midwife with the OB/GYN faculty practice at University of Maryland providing full-scope obstetrical and gynecological care. I have been in psychiatric practice for over ten years.
