Dr. Irene Mazur graduated with honors from the Ternopol Medical School in Ternopol, Ukraine, in 1992. After her move to the US, she completed a Psychiatry Residency program and a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship in in UMDNJ, Piscataway, NJ. Her area of expertise include: autism, aggression, developmental delay, ADHD, depression, and PTSD. In 2023, Dr. Mazur had received well-deserved recognition and was acknowledged as a Top Pinnacle Professional for her contributions to the field of Psychiatry.

Hi, am the owner/ head Clinician at Hope Mental Health. When you come see me, you will get 2 providers in your care. Myself and one of my fabulous student/interns. The latter will take your medical/psych history and then I will come on and join to create the treatment plan and prescribe meds when evaluation is complete. On subsequent visits, you will see the student/intern and he/she will bring me on when needed when a change is needed to meds or the treatment plan. Our practice is integrative/functional in nature, meaning that we combine traditional psych meds with supplements, including vitamins to treat the root problem.

I completed my residency from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts and my Fellowship in Addictions from the Robert Johnson Wood Foundation. In 2014, I was featured in SJ Magazine as one of New Jersey’s top psychiatrists. I have experience working with adults as well as adolescents suffering from both psychiatric diagnosis and substance use disorders and have extensive experience working in both out-patient and in-patient settings.

Each patient has a unique set of needs and therefore requires a unique approach to achieve their individual mental health goals. Not every patient is a one size fits all approach. Often, creativity in care planning is necessary to give my patient the best intervention strategy that fits their life and their goals. In my own recent past as Vice-Chair of Medicine at Tampa Community Hospital; and, as a lead resident at Department of Medicine at East Tennessee State University, I saw there was a fairly large gap between the standard of mental care needed by patients and that which was typically delivered in terms of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology.
