I am dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health care to individuals of adults. I offer psychiatric medication evaluations and treatment for various conditions including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and PTSD. Hi there!Abbey Carroll. I am a local to Colorado and left only briefly to complete my nursing degree in Oklahoma before moving back to the area. I have over 10 years of nursing experience in various positions and settings. While working extensively with adults of all ages, I found a passion in the mental health field. I have a deep interest in integrative care and believe that mental health must be addressed from multiple fronts.

Clients who come to me are experiencing uncomfortable emotional feelings and are having difficulty controlling a substance such as alcohol, methamphetamine or opioids. People who struggle with substance use disorders often feel that no one understands how they are feeling and what they are experiencing. Therefore they do not disclose their true feelings and do not feel they can be honest in sharing their issues and needs for fear of being judged and misunderstood. I have experience in this area of health care, and I will listen to your issues and needs. We will put together a plan that both helps and one that is comfortable for you

Although carefully chosen medications can quickly achieve much needed relief of anxiety, depression, insomnia and trauma symptoms, a thorough evaluation can also identify many opportunities for improvement without medications. The most effective treatment plan may include work-life balance, nutrition and sleep strategies, addressing, avoiding or adapting to triggers, in addition to multiple psychotherapies. When needed, medications with the lowest side effects, easiest to use, most predictably effective & not addictive are recommended. Ultimately, it is up to each person to decide which strategies they will use to achieve wellness.

I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner based in Denver, Colorado. I received my doctorate degree in family nursing practice from The University of Arizona in 2016. After completing my degree, I worked in pediatric neurology for over 4.5 years. I have always had an interest in psychiatry which prompted me to pursue my postgraduate certificate in psychiatric mental health. I gained most of my psychiatric experience during my clinical rotations.

We see you as a person, not an illness. Together we will work with you to optimize your care and work towards remission of your symptoms. We ensure that you'll have time during your appointment to ask questions and make sure that you understand treatment options. We will offer suggestions for care and support what you decide. We will assess genetic and nutritional deficiencies and will add supplements and natural treatments as well as prescription medications as indicated.
