Dr. Chris Winfrey is the psychiatrist behind New Image Wellness. His practice combines traditional psychiatry, metabolic and orthomolecular psychiatry, functional medicine, environmental neuropsychiatry, and psychoanalytic therapy to support mental and emotional well-being. He uses this combination of medicine towards conditions such as Traumatic Brain Injuries, Cognitive Impairment, PANDAS, Autism, Mold Toxicity induced Encephalitis, refractory depression, PTSD and other conditions to rehabilitate the brain and restoring mental functioning. Dr. Winfrey also works in the forensic psychiatry space offering services for the courts.
As a psychiatrist, I differ from a psychologist and therapists in that I have earned a medical degree and function as a medical doctor. When patients present with problems, it is important to evaluate medical/biological causes of depression, anger outburst, anxiety, insomnia, etc. Neurological and other medical problems are important to consider as well.
In addition to psychiatric evaluations and an extended medical evaluation, I am also able to provide a range of psychotherapeutic treatments ranging from brief interventions and supportive psychotherapy to psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy. It is important to have a mind-body focused treatment.
