It is often misdiagnosed medically by blaming the hormones or as another mental health condition such as anxiety, depression, stress, bipolar disorder, or believing that ADHD is a childhood condition. Anxiety, panic, depression, insomnia, mood swings, anger, self blame are all symptoms of ADHD. My goal is to brighten your daily life and lift you out of the current state of misdiagnosis and medication failures that are causing unmanageable difficulties in your life.

Prior to Spruce, I spent the last seven years at Seattle Children's Hospital, Harborview Medical Center and teaching for the University of Washington's School of Nursing.

I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with prescriptive authority in Washington and Oregon. I treat people of all ages for a range of issues including ADHD, Autism Spectrum, depression, anxiety, bipolar, OCD, ODD, and selective mutism. I do not treat addiction disorders. Although I do not provide therapy, I strongly believe therapy is an important part of your mental health journey and provide appropriate referrals.

As a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, licensed to practice in the State of Washington. I have experience working with children, teens and adults. I have also worked with acutely ill adult clients in a number of inpatient facilities. I hold Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Nursing from the University of Southern Indiana, and have worked in the nursing profession since 1998. I am currently not accepting new patients for ADHD treatment.

When my husband’s job as a pilot took the family to Alaska, she worked at the Indian Health Service and the Veteran’s Health Administration. Always interested in mental health, I sought advanced post-masters training at Purdue University. Following graduation, I completed a year-long psychiatric nurse practitioner residency under the exceptional mentorship of psychiatrist, Lori Rogers, M.D.

She is a caring and compassionate psychiatrist with more than 13 years of experience treating children, adolescents and adults. Her well-rounded approach focuses on the individual needs of patients and families to create a balanced treatment plan that looks at both psychology and medical needs. She performs a thorough psychiatric evaluation.

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Washington State ( License AP60003268). I received Baccalaureate Degrees in Psychology and Nursing from the University of Washington in 1988, and a Master's Degree in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Washington in 2007. I worked in inpatient and outpatient settings as a Psychiatric Nurse and have experience working with children, adolescents and adults in an outpatient setting as a Psychiatric ARNP. In my free time I enjoy hiking, skiing, trail running and reading.

My practice is oriented towards long-term insight-oriented psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and adults, sometimes including medication management as part of an overall treatment plan. I seek to provide non-critical, empathic, and respectful listening which will enable my patients to feel safe as we explore together the sources of their distress. As a person achieves greater self-understanding, greater self-acceptance and compassion towards oneself becomes possible, and this helps relieve suffering and affords greater personal freedom to become one's authentic self.

I had the honor of being trained by Francine Shapiro, originator of EMDR Psychotherapy. I work with individuals across the life span with a multitude of mental health challenges such as Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Mood disorders, Bereavement and mourning, Chronic Pain, ADHD, Divorce etc.
