Valerie Zelonis, PMHNP-BC, is a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, licensed to practice throughout the lifespan, and specialized in the area of child and adolescent psychiatry.

We are a group of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) with a passion for helping individuals identify their goals in mental health and approaching those goals holistically. Considering medication can be daunting, but our team takes the time to assist those to make informed decisions that would best suit them!

I am a Harvard, Columbia/Cornell, and UC San Francisco trained adult, child/adolescent, and addiction psychiatrist. In addition to treating mental health disorders across the lifespan (depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, for instance), I have particular expertise and experience in treating people of any age with co-occurring struggles with substances, such as opioids, methamphetamine, cocaine, benzodiazepines, cannabis, and alcohol.

As a Harvard-trained board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, I believe that excellent psychiatric care is centered on the whole person, not just on a diagnosis or a specific medication. I really enjoy working with people who are struggling with their mental health and know it's time to get help. Perhaps it is their first time reaching out or maybe their current medication and therapy regimen isn't working at well as it could be. I love to work with patients collaboratively, so that we can make decisions together and work as a team. I am particularly skilled at working with older adolescents and young adults in their 20s and early 30s as they navigate their way into healthy adulthood.

I am a Clinical Associate Professor at Boston College and a Teaching Associate at Harvard Medical School. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner and a registered yoga teacher, I specialize in providing mindful mental health services, including prescribing psychiatric medications and using Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). I utilize mindfulness-based techniques, such as MBCT and yoga in my treatment plans to support holistic mental health and meet the unique wellness goals of my clients. I provide new prescriptions or refills of psychiatric medications based on the needs and preferences of each individual.

Dr. Hu is a Duke-trained dual-board-certified psychiatrist, specializing in anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) in adults, college students, adolescents and children. She emphasizes 3Cs in her practice- comprehensive, compassionate, evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Exposure-based approaches are one of the essential components, such as exposure and response prevention (ERP) or acceptance commitment therapy (ACT). She supports clients to live fully and freely, who previously were imprisoned by worries, ruminations, sensitivity to rejection, or constant sense of inadequacy.

Dr. Toppelberg is an experienced, Harvard-trained child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, usually working with ages 3-30. He evaluates and treats emotional/ behavioral difficulties including ADHD, depression, trauma, stress, anxiety, and selective mutism, and those preventing weight loss. He has focused on issues of performance at work, study and competitive sports. He regularly works with tour-level tennis players and other professional and student athletes. He is an expert in neurodevelopmental disabilities, as well as learning and language disabilities. He runs psychiatric services at an excellent school for children/adolescents with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities, the prestigious New England Center for Children.

I am an integrative practitioner licensed in NJ & MA who can assess biochemistry to identify important deficiencies/abnormalities that may be related to mental health symptoms. I can provide genetic testing for med management. Patients often seek integrative/"functional" psychiatry after they have trialed multiple medications, experienced unpleasant/unremitting side effects, and have not been able to obtain symptom alleviation with traditional psychiatry. I believe strongly in psychotherapy to help the patient work towards healing. I work collaboratively with other treatment providers and am a strong advocate for my patients needs.

Dr. Marie Gipson is a multilingual board-certified psychiatrist and child and adolescent psychiatrist who places her patient’s interests first. She believes that a psychiatrist’s role is, at its most basic, one of stewardship of a person’s unlimited potential.

Dr. Swaminathan Thangaraj is a double-board certified adult and child/adolescent psychiatrist in Boston. He is currently an assistant professor at Drexel College of Medicine. Dr. Thangaraj also worked at McLean Hospital/Harvard University and Sheppard Pratt establishing various inpatient units. He is one of the few doctors who treats patients of all ages from toddler, adolescence to adulthood.
