I am a board-certified general and child psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience. I will collaborate with you to reduce symptoms, provide tools for emotional self-care and improve your quality of life. I help children and adolescents with learning, school, self-esteem, mood and behavioral concerns. I also assist youths who are transitioning to adulthood. I collaborate with adults under age 55 (at the time of the first appointment) who have anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and developmental disorders when there is a good fit. I enjoy working with people of all faiths, cultures and gender identities.
The psychiatric interview informs me of your situation, stressors, goals, strengths, physical health, history, etc. We review the diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. We set measurable goals including symptom reduction, skill-building and relapse prevention. We will review progress towards achieving the treatment goals and modify them when appropriate.
Your participation and comfort are important. I will suggest treatment options and summarize the benefits and risks. You can ask questions and review information before deciding how to proceed. A sustained reduction in symptoms can result in less frequent visits. Your privacy is of paramount importance in this collaborative partnership.
