I was first inspired to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner while working as a speech pathologist in the Austin public schools where many of my speech students struggled with low mood, anxiety, and impulsivity. I enjoy working with neurodivergent patients of all ages, and can diagnose and treat ADHD in children and adults. I comfortably incorporate both pharmaceuticals and evidence-based alternative treatment modalities to treat patients with many mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.
I provide a person-centered, individualized approach to care. As a former (and forever) anthropologist, I remain curious, humble, and respectful of my patient's unique perspectives and backgrounds. I am a member of Central Texas Eating Disorder Specialists (CTEDS), and I practice according to the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES).
My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming space for my patients to feel heard and to help them chart their path forward to better mental health. I see my role as a collaborative member of each patient's healthcare team, and I am happy to facilitate academic and career accommodations as needed.
