I am a Columbia University psychiatrist who uses integrative practices (especially mindfulness and meditation) along with modern psychotherapy and psychiatric medicine. My main focus is helping motivated people to work with their difficult emotions and behaviors, toward greater joy and peace in their lives.
I have a specialty in substance use problems and addictive behaviors (e.g., compulsive sex, gambling, or eating), including a particular focus on flourishing in recovery (however you define that term). I am also a professor on Columbia's faculty, where I teach on topics related to psychiatry, ethics, neuroscience, and society.
My goal is to help you go beyond symptoms and work toward optimal emotional and physical health.
