I am a psychiatric APRN who specializes in treating children and adolescents who struggle with emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues. I have 18 years of experience working with children and adolescents facing depression, anxiety, ADHD, and thought disorders. I have extensive experience in treating psychiatric symptoms related to trauma. When a child's symptoms impair their ability to achieve developmental milestones or a healthy quality of life, we must do our best to remove any obstacles that stand in their way.
I am a Clinical Nurse Specialist who is board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. I have been trained in psychotherapy as well as pharmacotherapy. I strongly believe that psychiatric treatment for children and adolescents works best when we include families, therapists, schools, and primary care providers.
After working with some of the most vulnerable children in the state, I truly understand the importance of fostering a positive relationship between client and provider. I believe in a balanced approach to treatment that includes therapy, evidenced-based use of medication when necessary, and in some cases genomic testing.
