Stanley Terman's career focuses on empowering people to make informed decisions so they can successfully meet challenges in their lives with more pleasure, less suffering, and improved relationships. He helps couples and families in several ways. These include reducing the suffering of terminally ill patients and their loved ones, especially if they face huge challenges of Advanced Dementia and desire an "Ironclad Strategy" to compel others to honor their end-of-life wishes. In collaboration with clinicians, bioethicists, chaplains, and attorneys, he founded a non-profit organization, wrote three books, and created the patient decision aid, "My Way Cards."

I am focused on treating patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric disorders. I am particularly interested in using interventional psychiatric approaches including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for treatment-resistant depression.

Dr. Elswick is a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist who emphasizes personality structure assays, functional biographical analysis, and relational behavior pat­terns, to tailor an individual treatment plan for medications and psychotherapy. He enjoys helping patients find their way through existential, spiritual, relational, and career problems. He specializes in treating adult ADHD and in reducing the burden of medications wherever possible. Dr. Elswick works closely with our psychologists, so he can provide a collaborative treatment plan to patients.

Dr. Su has a rigorous background in research and clinical psychiatry in many different treatment settings. He has a gentle and empathetic approach towards his patients, and his background gives him a unique perspective in providing evidence-based treatments in a caring environment. He is a compassionate psychiatrist who deeply cares about his patient’s health and well-being. Dr. Su is a kind and expert listener and works closely with each of his patients to develop a detailed treatment plan just for them.

Dr. Hirchak is an experienced, Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist, who emphasizes psychopharmacology and neurobiology in his treatment. Dr. Hirchak specializes in treating Anxiety, OCD, Depression, and Bipolar Disorder. Dr. Hirchak collaborates closely with our therapists so he can provide treatment with both medication management and psychotherapy when indicated.

Catvy Nguyen takes a unique and progressive approach to mental health illnesses. Treatment is personalized, based on evidence research, and encompasses on a myriad of treatment modalities. Kathy believes in the influence of three factors: one's past and upbringing, current life situations, and one's genetic makeup, affecting mental illness.

I am a licensed child/adolescent and adult psychiatrist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in General Psychiatry and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. I offer integrative and holistic psychiatric treatment for children, adolescents and young adults, in particular. I also treat older adults and my understanding of development and early challenges better informs my work with them as well.

Dr. Walker is a distinguished psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of psychiatric disorders in adults and the geriatric population. Board-certified in psychiatry, he demonstrates a commitment to providing comprehensive and effective care.

I am an adult psychiatrist who specializes in treating mood disorders, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, attention deficit disorders, and substance abuse. I use an integrative approach that emphasizes a combination of psychotherapy and medication as needed for each individual. I am also experienced with medications for treatment of substance abuse such as Suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone) and Revia (naltrexone). I completed my undergraduate degree at Harvard University, medical school at Columbia University, and psychiatric residency at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).

Dr. Estrada takes a comprehensive approach toward treating mental illness, utilizing medication, lifestyle changes, spirituality, and psychotherapy. She applies evidence-based medicine to her practice and is detail-oriented and thorough in gathering information for an accurate diagnosis. She cares about helping her patients experience life to the fullest and treats a majority of mental health conditions.

I have been practicing Psychiatry exclusively in the State of California for 14 years, and enjoy multiple aspects of treating and empowering individuals.  Working in different healthcare systems including private practice, inpatient, community, academic, and telehealth has helped in being able to create unique care plans and goals to match each individual's needs. I especially enjoy integrating the biological, psychological, social aspects of mental health conditions and respective treatment plans to appreciate the wholeness of the individual.

Having seen a wide area of complex patients with complex diagnoses and in complex situations in various situations, I prides myself on being able to step back and take a deep thorough dive into patient histories to really try and tease out all a person’s complexities, so that the plan I come up with can be as tailored to each individual. I also take less of a formal psychoanalytic-style of approach to psychiatry, and more so realize I am working with a person.

Dr. John Mendelson is a Board Certified Internist with over 30 years of research and practice in the field of addiction treatment. In addition to being Ria Health’s Founder and Chief Medical Officer, he currently serves as Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and maintains a private practice of his own.

Accepting New Patients - Dr. Ara completed her fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (CLP) at UCLA. CLP is a subspecialty of psychiatry that focuses on treating mental health issues in patients with complex medical conditions. Before her fellowship training, she completed her psychiatry residency at the University of New Mexico and earned her M.D. degree from Tehran University.

Dr. Kim completed her residency training in general psychiatry at University of California, Irvine. She has worked with patients from diverse backgrounds in various settings including academic institutions, county hospitals, correctional facilities, rehabilitation centers, and outpatient clinics. She has expertise in treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, insomnia, and trauma and stressor-related disorders.

Dr. Sorta grew up in Seattle, WA and completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Washington. He also completed his psychiatry residency training at the University of Washington. He is experienced in treating a full array of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD and other trauma and stress-related conditions, ADHD, OCD, and insomnia. He has worked in a variety of treatment settings but is most passionate about forming longitudinal and collaborative relationships with patients in the outpatient setting.

I am a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist that specializes in the evaluation and management of ADHD as well as anxiety (Generalized Anxiety, OCD, PTSD, Phobias) and depressive disorders. I also have experience working with eating disorders across various treatment settings. I have also consulted in assisting people in professional and performance development. My approach focuses on a thorough evaluation which we use as the basis for your plan of care. From there we have a conversation about the evidence-based options for your treatment.

On a typical day, I treat patients with mental health issues such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, and depression, sleep disorders, ADHD those who struggle with substance abuse or the heartbreak of dementia, and many more. Although I can prescribe medication as a viable option, I have also been very successful with the holistic approach of listening and educating the patient before resorting to medication, and many times it is a combination of all three.
