As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, for close to three years, I have provided mental health psychotherapy and psychopharmacology to manage clients with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, BPD, Schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, and patients with substance use disorder. Every human is different and need a tailored treatment plan. Motivational interviewing, diagnostic approaches following DSM-5 to provide treatment.
During a medication management session, an assessment of your mental health, review of medication options, effectiveness, and discussion of potential side effects. Adjustments to the medication plan are based on evidence-based.
Treating mental health requires building a therapeutic relationship with you and working as a team to provide healing. One part of my holistic care is active listening, non-judgmental, and the ability to educate clients about medications and encourage open communication to address concerns that align with the treatment plan.
