I am a board certified psychiatrist with a broad range of skills and special expertise in consultation-liaison (C-L) psychiatry, which focuses on the mental health needs of patients with co-occurring medical problems such as cancer, HIV and COVID-19. I have helped patients cope with everything from depression, anxiety and relationship problems to "brain fog" from chemotherapy. I offer both therapy and medication management, either alone or in combination, as appropriate for each patient. I strive to be both a good listener and a skilled expert who collaborates with patients to problem solve in the real world.
I have an eclectic background for an MD, having majored in literature at college, earned an MBA and worked in finance for many years before medical school, residency and fellowship training. Before entering private practice, I was Chief of Psychiatry and Director of the C-L Psychiatry Service at LIJ Forest Hills Hospital, part of the Northwell Health system.
I am here to help and I would love to hear from you. I see patients both in person and on video (face-to-face is strongly encouraged for the initial consultation). Please contact me for a free 15-minute conversation to see if my practice would be a good fit for you.
