In a majority of diagnoses within the DSM-5, individuals can receive the same diagnosis without sharing any common symptoms. This lack of symptom overlap groups diverse individuals into arbitrary categories, and results in a "one-size-fits-all" treatment approach that is ultimately ineffective and sometimes dangerous. I treat individuals using personalized medicine tailored to their specific needs. Treatment may involve psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, use of medications, compounded hormones, nutraceuticals and supplements, and nutrition counseling.
I completed an additional four years of training in integrative psychiatry and personalized medicine beyond the completion of medical school and residency in psychiatry. I offer comprehensive bloodwork, as well as nutrigenomic, pharmacogenomic, and comprehensive hormonal testing in order to fully assess and optimize the health of my patients.
