In my work with individuals with chronic medical, psychiatric, pain and substance disorders I have come to truly appreciate how very individual and uniquely these manifest in the suffering patient. In the experience of of the one afflicted, their disorder is as distinct as the sufferer him or herself. As no two persons or illnesses could possibly be alike, neither should their most effective prescribed treatments be expected to be.
In respect of this, every patient is methodically assessed leaving no medical, psychiatric, substance exposure, environmental, social, or occupational historical feature unexamined. These are filtered through ones' unique personality characteristics, perspectives and experiences. Only then might we have derived the grounding for true understanding.
I have only the greatest admiration for the steps you have taken to get to this point, the bravery inherent in that and the greatest respect for the complex composition that is you and the symptoms and circumstances that have now brought you to me.
