Tabita is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has an extensive experience in diagnosis and management of broad spectrum mental health issues including MTHFR Deficiency, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, Bipolar and Substance use. Tabita uses a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. Her focus is to prescribe medications in a conservative and effective manner.

I work with people of all ages to understand and work toward their goals for a more fulfilling life. I meet all clients with an individualized and trauma informed approach, recognizing that no one can truly understand another's unique experience. I work with clients living with symptoms related to trauma, depression, anxiety, and many other mental health concerns. I specialize in adolescents and young adults, and am passionate about partnering with young people to develop the skills and language necessary to advocate for their mental wellbeing.

Biography: I completed my master’s degree in nursing at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, followed by a post-master’s degree in Family Nursing Practice (FNP) and a doctoral degree in nursing practice (DNP) at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina. I also completed a post-doctoral degree in psychiatric mental health practice (PMHNP) (across the lifespan) at Frontier Nursing University in Kentucky. I am board certified in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry (PMHNP-BC). I am also board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), a DOT Medical Examiner, and SAMHSA (X-Waiver) addiction provider.

By my actions, I will define the standards of excellence and dedication to the health and safety of clients entrusted to my care. My goal is to utilize my knowledge, competencies, and advanced skills towards helping patients achieve a good quality life, health and well-being, while also continuing to advocate ‘for,’ and empower clients with mental illnesses. Anita has more than 8 yrs experience as psychiatric nurse practitioner, and experience as telepsych provider for more than 4 yrs. Her experiences include outpatient, inpatient, military, and civilian; works with children and adult populations.

While I treat all ages, my primary focus is with children, adolescents, and autism throughout the lifespan. I believe in a partnership between provider and client. I seek to get to know my client as well as their goals for treatment so that I may use my skills/expertise to assist them in meeting those goals. I know that my clients place their trust in me when they seek care. I take seriously my responsibility to be knowledgeable stay current in evidence and research for psychiatric treatment.
