Hello! My name is Dr. Birgit Amann. I am a board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist practicing in a private practice setting in Troy, Michigan. My office is called the Behavioral Medical Center - Troy. I work among other physicians, nurse practitioners and therapists and treat all age ranges. My role at the clinic is medication management. Therapy is critical in combination with medications as medications can't do everything a person needs to find emotional success and optimal daily functioning. That's why we work as a team offering both counseling and medication management at our office!

My personal role as a physician is medication management. I specialize the treatment of ADHD across the lifespan and in mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. My focus is on proper diagnosis and treatment - patients undergo an initial evaluation and then do various rating scales along with the Qb test (an objective FDA cleared performance measure) if ADHD is a consideration. If medications are discussed the patient is made aware of the most common side effects and other important aspects of their medication. Regular follow up visits are scheduled.
