I am Bethany Richards, MD (she/her). I have over 20 years of experience as a Board Certified Psychiatrist in mental health centers, hospitals, inpatient units and outpatient. Most recently I was the Medical Director and Director of Integrative Psychiatry at the Neurodiagnostic Institute. I conceived of and helped develop the Advanced Treatment Center for Integrative Psychiatry there. Through my work and personal healing journey, I discovered Reiki, Shamanic healing and many other forms of self healing. I also became very familiar with alternative forms of treatment. These practices have great benefits for people struggling.
I have integrated this knowledge into my practice of psychiatry. I have specialized in trauma recovery, serious mental illness, and now integrative psychiatry. This is traditional psychiatry where other wellness practices (e.g. Reiki, somatic work) can be integrated based on client interest. If you would prefer to not include these treatments, that’s okay.
