People do not stop functioning without a reason. Whether it looks like emotional dysregulation, shutdowns, anxiety, medical concerns, executive dysfunction, or “nothing seems to help” situations, there is often more to the story. I work with children, adults, and overwhelmed parents struggling in ways that no longer make sense, helping uncover what is happening and why.
Many of the cases I see involve children, adolescents, and adults with overlapping healthcare concerns, especially when the full picture is messy. My background as both a Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner allows me to look at how everything is interacting rather than separating medical and mental health concerns into different boxes.
Life gets complicated quickly. Sometimes it becomes difficult to tell what is stress, what is medical, what is emotional, and what is simply the exhaustion of trying to hold everything together. My goal is to help identify what is driving the instability, using careful assessment and medication management to create more consistency.
