Dr. Lubinsky is an ABPN Board Certified Psychiatrist. He specializes in the treatment of a variety of mood, anxiety, and trauma related disorders. Care is tailored to the individual and is based on evaluation and integration of biological, psychological, developmental and environmental factors that contribute that contribute to decreased wellbeing. Dr. Lubinsky believes in in using psychotherapy to help his patients understand their inner emotional conflict and how their symptoms may be an adaptive response to life circumstances.

I am passionate about working with children, adolescents and young adults and am skilled at incorporating family when needed to treat the underlying causes. There are a multitude of reasons why people seek care and I spend the first couple visits exploring the challenges and struggles that bring people into my office and identifying contributing causes, like the use of substances, chronic poor sleep, lifestyle factors, before jumping to medications alone. As an experienced mental health nurse, I have worked with neurodivergent individuals, those with eating disorders and other mental health issues like depression or anxiety.

I know this is a difficult step to see a counselor. But try to forget the stigma. Everyone needs help now and then and it takes courage to reach out and connect. It's wired in you to need others during difficult times, and sometimes it's too much for a friend or a spouse to sort through things with you. I work with you to set practical goals, work toward them, and when you've reached them you can either wrap up your sessions with me, or set new goals. We only do what feels safe and right for you. I want to come along side you to get to the root of your concerns, and I give you tools to practice in between sessions.

My nursing career brought me the good fortune of traveling for work; I have lived in all four corners of the US (and in the middle, too!) and have enjoyed meeting and working with individuals of diverse backgrounds. As a nurse practitioner, curiosity and respect drive my practice; I join each person’s journey toward mental wellness with a collaborative treatment approach, taking time to “zoom out” and view symptoms through a holistic lens.

I feel that medications can provide relief for biological psychiatric conditions, but most of the long term relief comes from working through and reworking unhealthy behavioral patterns. Treating Psychiatric conditions is an art that requires balancing the medical treatments with looking at unconscious maladaptive behaviors. Once patterns are identified, the work we do will lead to change. I take the approach of meeting clients where they are at and working together in a relational model to reprocess and work through trauma.
