My name is Ashley. I founded Hark Psychiatry because I don't believe mental health care is what it should be. I believe the best outcomes happen when you know your provider personally and can connect with them when you need to (not just when it's convenient for them). I started this practice nearly two years ago, and my patients love that they can contact me directly, that I listen to them despite what other providers have said about their mental health, and that I'm willing to analyze their medication regimen with honesty (a lot of times this means discontinuing a medicine you no longer need).
For years, I've worked with people with a variety of mental health conditions including anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, OCD, schizophrenia, and PTSD. Many of them sat in my office and told me that I was the first person who had truly listened to them. Active listening results in a more accurate diagnosis and better treatment outcomes.
