He received his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and his medical degree from The Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where he graduated with the Department of Psychiatry's award of distinction. He went on to complete his psychiatric residency training at Northwell Health's Zucker Hillside Hospital, with a specialization in the assessment and treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and related conditions.

She specializes in the psychiatric treatment of children, adults and geriatric patients. She provides thorough evaluations and medication management of all mental illness utilizing the Bio psychosocial Model. She has an extensive background in the hospital setting managing the care of patients who are medically compromised and in need of psychiatric care. Her compassionate manner is comforting to others in their time of need. Juliana is also bilingual speaking fluent Spanish.

Dr. Akhtar is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in compassionate and comprehensive mental health care. She focuses on medication management for a wide range of psychiatric conditions, providing supportive therapy to help individuals navigate life's challenges and enhance their overall well-being, while emphasizing lifestyle changes and the development of coping skills. Dr. Akhtar completed her medical degree at the American University of Antigua, gaining a profound understanding of the biological, psychological, and social aspects of mental health.
