Being trained at Children' Hospital of Philadelphia, I specialize in depression, and anxiety, mood disorders, especially childhood trauma- the topic of my research at UPenn, eating disorders, autism,ADHD. I work well with schools, blended/ mixed families, and have a special interest in College Mental health, having worked at CAPS clinic at UPenn and the Depression Project at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I have a collaborative approach to patient care where parents and patients are partners in treatment with the doctor. My approach is - start low and go slow on meds. Any meds I will not give my own kids, I wouldn't yours!
I am a Board Certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist, with locations in Central and Downtown San Diego and North county- Scripps Ranch/Poway/Rancho Bernardo/Escondido area. I offer both virtual and in-person appointments. I see patients from ages 0-50 yrs. I do not accept any insurances; however, I can provide a superbill that you can submit.
I use a systems approach to treating children, teens, and young adults. I use a collaborative and Family based approach in all my patient care. Having a strong background in various therapy modalities, I often use an eclectic therapy model in my appointments. I use medications judiciously; my pharmacological management is thorough and well thought out.
