About
Dr. Angela Smedo is an adult psychiatrist specializing in providing brief psychotherapy in addition to medication management. She completed her residency in General Psychiatry at Michigan State University in June 2022. During her residency, she received additional longitudinal training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and enjoyed her role as a DBT skills group leader and consultation team member. She has experience in treating patients experiencing grief, trauma reactions, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and personality disorders.
In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, attending concerts, and listening to stand-up comedy. She also enjoys spending time with her dog, Gizmo, a Corgi Yorkie mix. A lifelong Michigander, Dr. Smedo was born and raised in metropolitan Detroit. She is passionate about providing care and advocating for members of her community.
