While I employ research based diagnostic and treatment modalities, my training goes far beyond this to encompass expertise both on the medical side and psychiatric side. I have additional trainings, including with Dr. Akash Kumar MD known for his multi layered diagnostic approach to assess nutritional, medical, psychiatric, and cognitive dimensions. Because of my background, I am uniquely able to look at the oft missed root causes of subtle medical conditions that contribute to emotional difficulty.

My approach involves looking at root causes rather than purely symptoms. We look for nutritional deficits, metabolic abnormalities, subtle psychological trauma, hidden sleep issues, brain injury, and advanced thyroid testing going beyond a simple TSH level.

I avoid interrupting and am careful to listen deeply not just to the symptoms a patient is reporting, but what they actually want for themselves. We first strive to understand what you want and need, and then custom tailor the diagnostic and treatment plan to most effectively achieve your specific goals. Regarding ADHD, my focus is primarily on diagnosis and reviewing the full range of treatment options. Medications are important and usually necessary, but there are kinds of treatment as well which patients are rarely presented with. Regarding mood and anxiety, there are augmenting treatments beyond the typical 15 medications used in psychiatry which are worth considering.
