After 13 years treating people in crisis at Seton Shoal Creek Hospital, I am acutely aware that the lack of mental health providers in Central Texas contributes in unnecessary delays in receiving high quality mental health treatment and can lead to psychiatric crisis and hospitalization. I opened my private practice to help bridge that gap.
I strongly believe in the uniqueness of each individual. An initial comprehensive diagnostic evaluation will explore mental, physical, and emotional health, family history, lifestyle, and individual strengths and challenges. I strive to understand each patient’s individual treatment goals in order to develop a truly personalized plan of care.
I believe the physician-patient relationship should be collaborative and encourage patients to be actively involved in their own care. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to mental health. I do my best to explain my reasoning for any treatment recommendations and to engage patients in the decision making process.
