I am a Yale University-trained Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist who meets patients "where they're at". This means that I personalize each treatment plan for each individual, not based on a one-size-fits-all, robotic, regimen. No two people are the same, so my treatment plans should not be either. Each patient can expect to receive top-quality, compassionate, individualized care, whether that includes medications or just therapy, with tangible resources that they can utilize outside of our appointment times. There is no such thing as a "difficult" patient, only a patient who we have not figured out how to help yet.
I am an expert in "big feelings". When someone is struggling with their mental health, it inevitably results in some "big feelings", whether that be deep sadness, anxiety, emptiness, or even agitation. I do not shy away from big feelings. In fact, I welcome them and help to channel them, for my patients and their families. I see patients of all ages.
I welcome patients with clear or complex diagnoses, children and adolescents who are struggling with explosive behaviors, and everyone in between. I offer a wide variety of therapies including my own originally crafted identity-based therapy, racism-informed therapy, and aggression therapy. I welcome all patients, of all backgrounds and identities.
