Whether you're struggling with the effects of trauma, depression, anxiety, low self esteem, relationship issues, or other life stressors, I believe that the most powerful resources are the ones that you might not know you already possess. Finding those inner resources is sometimes best achieved with the help of a fellow human being who knows how to relate in ways that facilitate self discovery. Relationship is the foundation of psychiatry, and then specific evidence-based medication or psychotherapy techniques can be applied toward particular goals. I am committed to achieving the outcomes that you define for yourself.
I am a Person-Centered prescriber and psychotherapist, and specialize in trauma treatment with Cognitive Processing Therapy. I often combine medication management and psychotherapy.
What I know about being human comes from a life lived, and a never-ending desire to understand myself and grow. I want to know my client as a person, and understand how my interventions fit with their lives and goals. I take my time with initial evaluations, and generally do not prescribe medication in the first visit.
