My areas of expertise include Mind Body Medicine and the psychodynamic treatment of anxiety spectrum disorders, depression, trauma, and issues relating to body image. I teach and speak extensively on how the physiologic mechanisms of the inflammatory process promotes the above disease states and how, through the utilization of psychoanalytic and mindfulness techniques, optimal change can be achieved. I utilize the combination of psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy and mindfulness heavily supported in the medical literature in my private practice.
I have authored articles in the medical literature related to my areas of specialty as above. My BodyImagery CD utilizes mindfulness techniques to complement the psychotherapy process. I teach within the public school system to educate about the treatment of positive body image. I am certified in the Energy Medicine technique of Soul Retrieval.
I am Board Certified Psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I received my medical degree from Tufts University in 1997, my medical internship at Harvard Medical School in 1999, and my residency at OHSU in 2002. Goals include becoming psychologically and physically healthier and treating various diseases related to diet. The group offers hands-on technique and experience on how to eat to accomplish these goals. This is our four week intensive Group that is designed for anyone who feels they have lost vital aspects of themselves that has resulted in anxiety, depression, or general burnout, or inability to transcend traumas. People who join this Group may have feelings of being unable to access a more content and joyous existence.
