A child and adolescent psychiatrist, conducts full psychiatric evaluations with children, adolescents, and adults. Experienced in the treatment of a variety of clinical concerns, including Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), intellectual disabilities, Autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, and psychosis. After adult psychiatry training in Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Altahir completed his fellowship studies at Penn state University in 2005.
We offer TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) therapy for chronic treatment resistant depression. TMS therapy is an FDA approved, non invasive treatment modality for depression, with minimal side effects compared to medications. We also offer pharmacological interventions and medications management for a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses.
