Most patients come to me after another provider has not been listening to their concerns. I am here to listen and help you with what is troubling you. I have the training and experience to help you reach your mental health goals. Services include medication management and/or therapy. I enjoy working with people of all ages. The reward for me comes when I see my patients getting better and enjoying their lives.

I am board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), who provides psychiatric assessments, diagnostic services and medication management with brief psychotherapeutic interventions. I seek to provide psychiatric services for individuals across the lifespan from children to older adults. I primarily see clients suffering from depression, anxiety, bipolar, and PTSD/Trauma. My approach to care is of a holistic, collaborative, empowering, practical and evidence-based nature in order to improve the lives of those of whom I serve. My goal, above all else, is to empower you to take charge of your own well-being.

Dr. Alicia Baros earned her doctorate in pharmacology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in research addiction medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina where she was appointed Research Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

I am a general psychiatrist providing medication management services and am comfortable treating most ages. I manage most psychiatric conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and addiction. My practice is largely telehealth. I accept new patients and most insurances.

I am a licensed, board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have an interest in treating the mental health care needs of the adult and older adult populations. I primarily treat depression, anxiety, bipolar, and PTSD disorders. I offer medication management and supportive therapy for clients. I also incorporate a collaborative approach and may refer to​ more specialized therapy options that could be beneficial.

Life throws us so many challenges and sometimes we need help navigating through those obstacles. With that being said, no one should have to struggle or feel defeated for needing a little help along the way. I work closely with clients to assess their needs, set realistic goals, and develop a therapeutic, pharmacological plan that will help them reach their goals and optimal well-being.

I'm not your typical psychiatrist; I don't smoke cigars, have a beard, or wear a bow-tie. I see pre-teens, teenagers, and adults for psychiatric evaluations, substance abuse evaluations, medication management, and counseling. I do testing and evaluations for ADHD and I'm also board certified in Addiction Medicine. I see patients with a wide variety of issues. Some of the most common ones I work with are listed here to the right.

It is my privilege to help others cope with real problems during the most challenging times of their lives. Personally as a widow and mother of two children, I do understand that life can be very challenging for all of us. My only goal is to see improvement from where you were the day we first met. My ideal client is a person that I would not consider a client at all, but a coworker who will work with myself and other providers to develop a treatment plan that can be utilized to improve the client’s overall wellbeing. Issues would include anxiety, mood, personality, or psychotic disorders as well as addiction and trauma. The needs of the client may include medication management, therapy, or a combination of treatments. Goals would include being actively involved in a client-centered treatment plan, such as taking medications as prescribed and attending therapy sessions because the client wants to improve overall wellbeing.

My practice was born out of a desire to escape the transactional nature of modern corporate medicine and provide authentic, person-centered care that is not driven by metrics and checkboxes. I wanted the freedom to build a practice with the provider-patient relationship placed at its center. I truly take the time to get to know my patients and listen to their thoughts, feelings, and concerns without judgment. My practice provides a safe space where all persons, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, are welcomed with open arms and treated with dignity.

I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice specializing in trauma, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety and grief. I also provide EMDR therapy which is excellent for recovery of trauma. I am a licensed and board-certified medical doctor specializing in psychiatric medication management and addiction services for adults and children. Through my contributions to clinical work, teaching, and research, I've been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I primarily treat ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Addiction, Trauma in children and adolescents, and substance use problems in youth and adults.

My ideal patient is seeking an experienced medication management provider who embraces a holistic approach to mental and physical health. You may need a new or different psychiatric medication, or you may need health coaching, or you may need someone to help you advocate differently with your primary care physician. Or you may need all of these things! I am motivated to travel WITH my patients, to make sure they feel heard and understood, and to collaborate on a treatment plan. We will leave no stone unturned.

Honest and truthful, willing to use therapy and medication management. Able to work together towards goals. I worked as an RN in the ER for 10 years before completing my training as a PMHNP. I feel like I have strengths in medication education, high anxiety situations, and particularly the aging older adult population. Before I started as a PMHNP, I worked 10 years in acute care nursing. During this time Covid-19 hit and medical teams were experiencing high rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide.

I have experience treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, eating disorders, insomnia, and substance abuse disorders. Being certified in mental health treatment throughout the lifespan, I am able to see children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. I offer medication management, Spravato (esketamine) treatments, and IM and IV Ketamine infusions for treatment resistant issues.

I am a Spravato Treatment Center specializing in Spravato for treatment resistant depression. I am amazed daily with seeing clients depression improve after years of struggling with lingering symptoms despite trying and failing other medications or only finding minimal relief with their current medications. My goal is to help every individual reach their fullest potential.
