Adam's treatment approach is rooted in the understanding that first, we are made in the image of God, second, that our biology, psychology, and spiritual state have been impacted by the Fall, and third, that the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on our psychology begins with salvation and continues through the faithful stewardship of our mind and body. We hold strongly that medication does not constitute a lack of faith in God’s ability to bring miraculous healing but that it may be prayerfully considered when appropriate and accepted with thanks as a gift from God.
You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) as both a physical body and an immaterial soul. In order to understand psychiatric concerns, we cannot neglect either of these aspects of what it means to be human living in a fallen world. The ways the physical (body) and nonphysical (soul/spirit) interact is intricate and complex.
