Dr. Marla Richard is Stanford trained board-certified psychiatrist and board eligible in geriatric psychiatry from UCSD. She has been practicing in a variety of settings for the last 30 years. Dr. Richard uses an an integrated health paradigm with general and geriatric patients using traditional psychopharmacology, interpersonal neurobiology practices, and personality assessments to look at root motivations for behaviors to address core issues and with medication management as needed. Dr. Marla believes that you need to take a whole-person approach to both mental and physical health.

My passion to serve for the last three years. has evolved into starting a private practice devoted only to Mental Heath issues. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 13 years of nursing experience in the psychiatric field ranging from child and adult inpatient care to community mental health crisis stabilization and substance abuse treatment. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Colorado State University in Pueblo, Colorado. After graduation, I worked in various fields in nursing but eventually found my niche working for an inpatient psychiatric hospital. While working with inpatients, I saw the need for mental health, especially with the recent pandemic.
