Mental health struggles arise from many sources. Appreciating this, I work to understand your unique experience, values and priorities. My recommendations are anchored in evidence-based treatments and include medications, psychotherapy, complimentary medicine, lifestyle modification and deprescribing when indicated. No one treatment is right for everyone. Everyone's path to their best selves is unique to them.
Many of the people I have worked with have identified struggles with depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADHD, PTSD, substance misuse and behavioral addictions.
In the 20+ as a psychiatrist I have enjoyed working in private practice, community health centers, inpatient facilities and academic settings. I have been board certified in General and Addictions Psychiatry. I have advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and utilize CBT, ACT, and MI.
I continue to enjoy my work as a psychiatrist and helping people find relief from their struggle, aquire effective coping tools, and become healthier happier people. I approach each person as an opportunity to connect with someone looking for positive change.
