I received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where I majored in the Biological Basis of Behavior and competed on the Men's Varsity Swimming Team. After graduating and prior to medical school, I became a private high school science teacher. I completed my Psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in NYC, where I was selected as Chief Resident. During that time, I also completed a Psychodynamic Fellowship at New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. I then completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health with a focus on Depression and Anxiety.
My practice specializes in the treatment and management of depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, relationship issues, bereavement, career planning, and adjustments to major life transitions. My research at Mount Sinai and at the National Institute of Mental Health was in the biological and clinical heterogeneity of depression.
I follow a basic tenet that the brain and mind are complex and ever-changing worlds. Therefore, in order to help patients reach beyond their challenges and modify their circumstances, I utilize an integrative approach from a broad array of clinical skills and strategies.
